William Benjamin "Billy" McCollough Jr.

Rev. William Benjamin “Billy” McCollough, Jr., age 78, of West Point, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on July 20, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Benjamin McCollough, Sr. and Betty Mae Allen McCollough.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an adopted son, Marvin Lee White, in February 2026. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca White McCollough; his children, Christopher Wayne McCollough (Mollie), Sherrie Leigh Smith (Shannon), and Wendy Lynn White (Connor); grandchildren Devon McCollough, Shelby McCollough, Spenser Smith, Maddie Breeding (Jacob), and Sydnie Gill; brothers Frank McCollough (Lee) and Rev. Aaron McCollough (Marianne); sister Judy Walker (Freddy); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Brother Billy faithfully served the Lord as a Southern Baptist minister for more than 60 years, dedicating his life to preaching the Gospel and caring for the congregations he shepherded. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge, where he valued the fellowship and principles of service and brotherhood.

Billy loved his family deeply and found his greatest joy when everyone was together. His favorite place to be was at the piano, surrounded by loved ones, filling the room with music and laughter.
