"Bill" Parker, 85, of Dakota Dunes, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, peacefully at home.Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary being held at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.Bill was born on February 12, 1941, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, the son of Fred and Frances (Shanahan) Parker. He attended Nebraska City High School before continuing his education at the University of Notre Dame, where he laid the foundation for a lifelong career in the insurance industry. He worked as an insurance agent throughout his career, earning respect for his professionalism and dedication to his clients.Bill married Mary Stukenholtz on October 1, 1966, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nebraska City. To this union, five children were born.A devoted family man, Bill loved his family deeply and was exceptionally proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending and coaching his children's various sporting activities. A passionate fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, he took great pleasure in following their games and sharing that enthusiasm with those around him.Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Parker of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; his children, Jennifer (Mark) Ward of Byron, Minnesota, Stephanie (Alan) Wieskamp of North Liberty, Iowa, Jason (Stacie) Parker of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Elizabeth (George) Lindberg-Mitroka of Fort Montgomery, New York; and Michael Parker, along with his fiancé Chandra Miller and her son, Grayson Miller, of North Liberty, Iowa. His grandchildren include Josh (Caitlin) Ward, Alexander Wieskamp, Thomas Lindberg, Zachary Wieskamp, Gabrielle Parker, Grace Lindberg, Gianna Parker, Sophia Lindberg, Kaelyn Mitroka, Everett Parker, Haley Mitroka, and Veda Parker. Bill was also a proud great-grandfather to Lucia Ward.He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Frances Parker, and his sister, Dora Parker.Bill's life was one of steadfast devotion, to his faith, his family, his career, and his community. He will be remembered as a man who embodied loyalty, hard work, and genuine affection for those he loved. His legacy endures in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege to know him.
