William Anthony "Tony" Gross

William Anthony “Tony” Gross, age 56, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born in Fort Oglethorpe, he was the son of the late James William Gross and Judith Gail McDowell Gross. A lifelong resident of North Georgia and a man of Baptist faith, Tony spent most of his working years in the construction industry, where his strong work ethic and readiness to help others were widely respected.

In his free time, Tony found great pleasure in hunting and fishing with his family. He was a passionate supporter of University of Alabama football, a devoted NASCAR fan, and he took special joy in restoring and working on his old Ford trucks. Above all, he treasured the moments spent with those he loved. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jamie Nicole Presley-Dye.

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Lorena Bridgett Gross; his children, Brittany Wallace and Matthew (Chelsea) Gross; his sisters, Lisa Hill and Denise Brooks; his grandchildren, Dawson Gross and Madison Gross; and several nieces and nephews.
