William Amos “Bubba” Hancock of Southport, Florida, passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 59. Born in Beaumont, Texas, on December 4, 1967, Bubba possessed a lifelong passion for fishing and a remarkable talent for roofing and carpentry, reading blueprints with natural ease. He found deep joy in time spent with family, especially his nieces and nephews, and was known for his flavorful cooking and love of grilling outdoors. He also cherished quiet moments relaxing with a cold beer, savoring life’s simple pleasures in the company of those he held dear.
He was preceded in death by his father, William David Hancock; his mother, Lonia Leona Hancock; his sister, Susie Lyczskowski; and his special sister-in-law, Sue Hancock, along with several aunts and uncles.
Bubba is survived by his sisters, Linda Dodehoff (Chandler), Brenda Pulliam (Ken), and Diane Wright (Bud); his brothers, Ira Hancock and Will Hancock (Dana); his loyal dog, Scooter; and his cherished neighbors Penny Dance and Angie Thompson and husband. He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family members.
