William A. Hobby, 74, of White Plains, New York, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on October 31, 1951, in Port Chester to Allie C. and Dorothy (VanLoo) Hobby, Bill grew up in Rye and graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
A dedicated public servant, Bill served as a respected Building Inspector for the City of White Plains. He was known for his uncompromising commitment to the building code and his willingness to share his expertise with family whenever needed. He was an avid golfer and found great joy kayaking on the Hudson River.
Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Barrie. He is survived by his sisters, Lori and Lisa; his children, Chelsey, Kimberly (Justin), and William (Stephanie); and his six beloved grandchildren, Jayden, Jace, Scarlet, Emmy, Billy, and Tessa.
