Willard George Brink Jr.
Bellflower, CA
Willard George Brink Jr., known affectionately as George, was born on February 3, 1950, in Downey, California, to Adriana and Willard George Brink Sr. He grew up surrounded by his sisters Marilyn and Beverly, and was later joined by his brother Douglas. George graduated from Valley Christian High School in 1968, where he enjoyed playing football and running track, before attending Cerritos College.
In 1972, George met the love of his life, Judy. They married on August 31, 1973, and together raised two children, Lori and Michael. He was overjoyed when Lori married Dennis Vanden Berg in 2000 and Michael married Amy Griffin in 2008. George cherished his role as “Papa” to his grandchildren Allison, Rory, and Audrey, and created many treasured memories with each of them.
George began his career at Alpha Beta in the truck lot and advanced to manage the meat warehouse. His talent for real estate, which he first practiced helping family and friends, led to a position in the company’s real estate department. He later joined Staples, where he acquired new store locations across the western United States until his retirement in 1997.
A man of deep faith, George loved his church and its community. He enjoyed opening his home to friends and family and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at his home in Bellflower, California, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Beverly, his niece Jenniffer, and his nephew Douglas. George is survived by his devoted wife Judy, his children Lori and Dennis Vanden Berg and Michael and Amy Brink, his grandchildren Allison, Rory, and Audrey, his mother-in-law Annie, his sister Marilyn, his brother Doug, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
