Willard "Bill" Allen Pledger, age 80, of Rome, Georgia passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born September 12, 1945, he was the son of the late Thomas Monroe and Lula Mae Brock Pledger. In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his sisters, Barbara Morgan, Sheila Hart, Sandra Pledger and his brothers, Jerrald, John, Shelby, Harold, and Howard Pledger. Bill worked as a truck driver for over 40 years. He retired in 2013 from Mohawk Industries after 20 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, woodworking and gardening. Bill was known for his generosity, warm sense of humor and dedication to helping others. To know him was to love him. Bill's unwavering love for his family will truly be missed. Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Elaine Rogers Pledger, his children, Allen Pledger (LeeAnn) Silver Creek, Mahalie Wiggins (Randy) Rome, Jason Pledger (Lavada) Rome, Jerrika Jacobs, Cave Springs and Christy Patrick (Todd), Savannah, sister, Shirley Robinson, Cave Spring and brother, Jim Pledger, Rome, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens following the visitation at 2:45pm, with Dr. Charles Drummond officiating the service. The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.Pallbearers will include grandsons Justin, Jacob, Jason, Isaiah and Britian Pledger, Blake Patrick, Jonathan Camp, and Caleb Boatner.Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, is honored to serve the family of Mr. Willard "Bill" Allen Pledger.
