Wilfred Sharpe

Waverly Wilfred D. Sharpe, 90, of Waverly, Ohio, formerly of Athens, passed away at Adena Pike Medical Center on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born on March 22, 1935, in Athens County, he was the son of the late Charles Arthur and Idamae Stover Sharpe. A retired block mason, Wilfred lived with his grandson Jack Taylor for several years.

He is survived by his children Charles (Mary) Sharpe, Sharon Sharpe, and Diane Burkhart, as well as his sisters Mildred Haines and Effie Bledsoe.

In addition to his parents, Wilfred was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Hudnall Sharpe; his children Patricia Taylor and Bernard Sharpe; and his siblings Margaret Thompson, Charles F. Sharpe, Shelba June Rosser, Mary Burleigh, Judy McDonald, and Robert Sharpe.
