Wilbert B. Rethage

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Wilbert B. Rethage of Washington Township, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 8, 2026 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his spouse Muretta Rethage (Murri); his sons, Matthew Rethage (Leigh Anne) and Michael Rethage (Maura); his grandchildren, Theodore, Malia, Maxwell and Merrick; and his siblings, Dorothy Obidzinski, Ednamae Peterson and Kathleen Cumbie. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd. (7450 Saltsburg Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15235). A Mass will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Our Lady of Joy Church (2000 O'Block Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15239).

In lieu of flowers, and to honor Bill's request, memorial contributions may be to Plum Food Pantry, 81 Sandune Dr. Plum, PA 15239.
