Wesley Roman

Wesley Roman Jr., known affectionately as Wasily, passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2026, at the age of 87 in Elmira, New York. Born on February 12, 1939, in Elmira, he was the son of the late Charles and Julia Roman.

Predeceased by his former wife and friend Gloriadeen Foster, as well as his siblings Andy, Lawrence, Frank, Mary, John, Nick, Mike, Harry, Steve, Sophie, and Anna, Wes is survived by his children: Wesley Roman III of Elmira, Deana Roman of Lowman, Tammy (Duane) Manchester of Chemung, Jamie (Sandy) Roman of Elmira, and Jodi (Dave) Miller of Elmira. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Timothy and Daniel Manchester, Missy Manchester, Courtney Miller (Michael Burdick), and Ryan Miller; great-grandchildren Logan and Amelia Manchester and Madison “Squeaky” Burdick; his sister Pauline Roman of Melville, New Jersey; sisters-in-law Marlene Roman and Joan Roman of Elmira; and several nieces and nephews.

Wes retired from Custom Mix Concrete after many years of dedicated work. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who found great joy in the outdoors. He will be remembered by his family as a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose quiet strength and love for the natural world left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
