Wendy Shaukat

Wendy Ellen Shaukat, 68 of Waverly Hall, GA passed away peacefully, Monday March 16, 2026, with her loving family by her side. McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 will be handling the arrangements.

Wendy was born on October 28, 1957 in Arlington Heights, IL to the late Thaddeus Micek and Ruby Marcelle Thompson Micek. She spent most of her career as a Customs Compliance/Import Specialist for Newell Rubbermaid and Goody Products. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2015 from Columbus State University after raising her three children.

Wendy met her husband, Syed, in Chicago in 1973. They married in 1978 and spent time living in Chicago; Arlington, TX; Dothan, AL; Columbus, GA; Newnan, GA; Jacksonville, FL; and Fortson, GA.

She loved spending time with her family and close friends, traveling with her husband, frequenting the local Mexican restaurants, and enjoying a glass of wine outside on the porch. Getting to spend time with her kids and grandkids brought much joy to her.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Syed Zubair Shaukat. Survivors include her children: Jamal Shaukat (Megan) of Waverly Hall, GA; Naureen Smith (Christopher) of Valdosta, GA, & Gabriel Shaukat (Cindy Lin) of San Ramon, CA, sister: Pam Schneider (Hank) of Arlington Heights, IL,brother: Michael Micek (Tena) of Sedalia, MO, and grandchildren: Ali Blackburn,Addison Shaukat, Kalev Shaukat, Brantley Smith and Jacob Shaukat.

A private family service will be held to celebrate Wendy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor.
