Wayne Weston Jarrett, 98, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away on March 12, 2026, at his residence near Eldon. Born on February 7, 1928, in Norfolk, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Manford and Mattie (Miller) Jarrett. In 1949, he married Virgie Teal in Arkansas, and she survives him at their home.
A 1945 graduate of Eldon High School, Wayne worked in a variety of fields throughout his life, including at the International Shoe factory in Eldon, as manager of the Ozark Theater and Corral Drive-In, hauling fertilizer for MFA, grain farming in Tuscumbia, and owning two cattle farms in the Eldon area before retiring. He was a man of many talents, particularly in art and music. A gifted mandolin player, he performed with local bands and held a deep love for bluegrass and country music. Above all, his greatest devotion was to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Virgie Jarrett; his daughter, Linda Jarrett of the home; niece and nephew Paula (Jarrett) Keeney and Tommy Jarrett (Savanah), both of Eldon; special nephews by marriage Keith Enloe and Scott Enloe of Eldon; sister-in-law Joyce Enloe of Eldon; and special friend Jason Vanhooser. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Frances Jarrett and Irene Carrender, and brothers Jesse E. Jarrett and Frank Jarrett.
