He is survived by: his son Lawrence Mathis; his brother Robert Mathis; and his nieces, Cathy Mathis and Carol Mathis.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Baier Family Funeral Services (406 E Pells St, Paxton, IL 60957). A burial will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at the Rankin Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Gibson City Corn Belt Shrine Club.
