Warren Edward Wells Jr., 43, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on January 10, 2026 at his residence. Born on October 18, 1983 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois, he was the son of Warren Wells Sr. and Karen Jackson. Warren attended public schools in Springfield and remained a longtime resident of the city, having also lived for a time in Atlanta, Georgia.
He found joy in playing basketball and in his music, rapping with the local group Cred around Springfield. Those who knew him will remember the energy and passion he brought to the things he loved.
Warren was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Jackson-Hopson; grandmothers Berty Mae Jackson and JoAnn Wells; and grandfather Delbert Jackson. He is survived by his father, Warren (Bessie) Wells Sr. of Springfield, Illinois; sisters Lakisha Wells of Springfield and Warkela Wells of Nashville, Tennessee; stepsisters Lovie (Rico) Faine, Kishwia (Jamel) Broomfield, Lakisha (Terry Thomas), and Horazina Spencer, all of Springfield; Chiquista Holmes, Melton Holmes, Michael Holmes, and Marcus Holmes of Springfield; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
