Born in Boone, Mrs. Tingen was the daughter of the late Edgar Matheson and Edna Lola Rominger Matheson. She was retired from Duke Hospital.She is survived by her husband Donald Ray Tingen, two daughters: Sherri T. Haley (Allen) and Carla T. Blackwell (Richie), three brothers: Basil Matheson of Wilmington, Baxter Matheson (Margaret) of Clayton, and Eddie Matheson (Donna) of Bahama, one sister: Catherine Matheson of South Port, four grandchildren: Kayla Haley, Alonzo Haley III, Trey Blackwell, and Tyler Blackwell, two great grandchildren: Lonnie and Scottie Martin.She loved visiting lighthouses with her husband, Don. She enjoyed reading, trips to the beach, and spending time with her grandkids and her cat.
