We are celebrating the life of Wanda May Burroughs (nee Redmon), 91 years old. She passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026. Wanda was born October 27, 1934 to Harrell and Lucille Redmon. She was the last surviving of her five siblings: Betty (Stan), Barbara (Luther), Ann (Larry), Reed and Donald (Nancy).
She worked at O’Hare Airport for 45 years starting at the Seven Continents and became the first female bartender there. She lived a full life working, traveling, playing the slots and enjoying her friends and family. She was loved by everyone.
She is survived by her three children: Linda (Ken), Tom, Terri (Steve) and her adopted daughter, Sheryl. Grandma Wandee was loved by her grandchildren: Michelle, Nichole (Lance), Amanda (Chris), Shannon, Nicholas (Hannah), Alexis (Jared) and McKenzie. Her great-grandchildren: Kylee, Bayden, Aspen, Bree and Leonardo. And her grand-pets: Gracie, Lola, Stella, Birdie, Frankie and Swish. She will be greeted at the pearly gates by her brothers and sisters and countless beloved pets and grand-pets. Wanda did not wish for a large celebration, the family will be honoring her privately.
