Wanda June Glasgo

Wanda June Glasgo, 98, of Smithville, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the Apostolic Christian Home after a period of declining health.

Born on January 11, 1928, in Congress Township to Earl and Fay Lindsay Howman, Wanda graduated from Congress High School and attended Office Training School in Columbus. She began her career in the payroll department at the OARDC and later served as a cook for the Greene Local Schools for more than 23 years. On September 27, 1950, she married Brookes Glasgo; they shared 43 years of marriage until his death in January 1993.

A longtime member of the Smithville Brethren Church, Wanda was deeply involved in its ministries. She taught Sunday School in the Junior Department, participated in the WMS, and contributed to the Blanket Ministry and the church’s food distribution program. She also found joy in visiting residents at local nursing homes. In her retirement, she enjoyed reading, needlework, gardening, and completing large jigsaw puzzles, often keeping several puzzles going at once on her table.

Wanda is survived by her children, Phillip (Patti) Glasgo of Rittman, Phyllis (Bill) Snyder of Smithville, and Linda (Mark) Milich of Rittman; her grandchildren, Kathy (Bryce) Lehman, Tim Glasgo, Jennifer Glasgo, Danny (Amy) Milich, Shawn (Kelsey) Milich, Rebecca (Jonathan) Hofstetter, and Carrie (Chris) Kline; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister Donna Flickinger, her sister-in-law Marian Howman, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Brookes, her parents, her sisters Doris Durstein, Opal Peacock, and Hilda Bonnel, her brothers Donald, Harold, Lyle, Weldon, and Larry Dean, and two infant sisters.
