Wanda Joyce Whitlock

Wanda Joyce McMichael Whitlock, age 55, of Tallapoosa, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Born in Narragansett, Massachusetts, on September 21, 1970, she was the daughter of Brenda Coffey McMichael and the late Raymond Cecil McMichael.

A graduate of Temple High School, Joyce spent several years working in the bakery at Ingles, where her talent and passion for baking shone. She later continued her work in the bakery at Wal-Mart. She took great joy in creating cakes and meals from simple ingredients, turning them into something special. An avid outdoorswoman, she also cherished her time deer hunting and fishing. Her gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Breanna and Noah Merrill of San Antonio, Texas; her beloved grandson, Ollie Merrill; her mother, Brenda McMichael of Bremen; and her brothers, Jerry McMichael and Jeff McMichael.
