Wanda Ann Deel

Wanda Ann Deel, age 67, of Sykesville, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born on November 21, 1958, in Carroll County, Maryland, the daughter of the late William B. and Ruth Ann (Johnson) Schwarting. Wanda attended South Carroll High School.

She was the beloved wife of James P. “Buzz” Deel of Sykesville. A devoted homemaker, Wanda created a warm and loving home for her family. She is survived by her two sons, Christopher J. Deel and his partner Anna of Linthicum Heights, Maryland, and Joseph Deel of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Judith Ann Dash of Sykesville, and her mother-in-law, Bessie Jerrine Deel of Hayside, Virginia.

Wanda brought her intelligence and diligence to her husband’s business, where she served as bookkeeper for many years. She found great joy in gardening, cooking, crafting, and sewing, pouring the same care and affection into these pursuits that she showed to everyone she loved. Her creative spirit and thoughtful heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
