Walter Latham11/10/1946 - 03/05/2026Walter Dean Latham, aged 79, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026.Walter was born on November 10, 1946, and was preceded in death by his parents JT and Merle Latham, son Eric Shumann, and brother JT Latham. He is survived by his loving wife Sally Marie Latham who he married on April, 9, 2005 and they would have celebrated 21 years of marriage this April; his dog Roxie; his sons, Dean (Kendra) Latham, Clay (Ashley) Latham, and Tony (Jody) Boatman; his grandchildren, Kayleigh Schumann Dunn, Jake Latham, Jordan (Ethan) Latham Wyse, Skylor, Savannah, Makayla, and Makenzie Latham, Cereese (Trevor) Hollen, Anthony Boatman, Callie (Sam) Kokajko and his great-grandchildren, Noah and Luke Hollen, Kaydence Daws, Griffin Boatman, Katie Belle and Dottie Layne Kokajko, his sister, Debbie Carpenter; the Royall Family Cousins, Ralph (Charlotte), Robert (Cheryl), Randy (Andra), Ricky (Becky); and many wonderful nieces and nephews.Walter was a devoted husband to Sally Marie Latham – his soulmate and whom he referred to as the love of his life. Born and raised in Houston, TX, Walter ran and owned a successful electrical engineering company and was respected for his honesty and commitment. He was a great storyteller and had a knack for making everyone laugh. He had a passion for music and touched many lives with his charisma and charm while sharing his musical gifts with those around him. Whether playing with his brother JT in his band "The Range Riders," or playing alongside his brother-in-law David Carpenter in their band "Buck & Joe," or playing for fellowship at church, it was clear to everyone that music was the language of his soul. Visitation will be held at Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson, TX on Saturday, March 14th from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Holleman Cemetery in Oak Flat, TX on Saturday, March 14th at 1:00 pm. After the service you are invited to Smyrna Baptist Church in Laneville, TX for a barbeque lunch provided by his family.
