Jones passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 15, 2026, surrounded by his devoted and loving family following a two-year illness.He was born July 30, 1953, in Greenfield, Ohio, to the late Quentin and Mary (Smith) Jones. He married Karen Ann Ropke on October 7, 1978, celebrating 47 years of marriage.His family moved to Marion in 1961, where his dad would start Jones Blacktop and Excavating. During high school and college, his summers were spent paving blacktop. After college, he joined his dad in the family business and continued after his passing. Today, his son continues the tradition.He graduated in 1972 from Marion Harding High School. A 1976 graduate of Ashland University, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, where he developed lifelong friendships.He served many years on the Board of Marion Baseball for Youth. He proudly supported his sons in league, travel, and high school baseball. He spent countless hours at practice and at his sons' wrestling events. He coached and assisted at Baker Middle School.He treasured many years golfing at the Marion Country Club. He loved music his entire life and passed that passion down to his entire family.A man of quiet faith, he was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He belonged to Masonic Lodge 196 F&AM in Bainbridge, Ohio.He was a fiercely devoted family man, a strong friend, and kind-hearted. The greatest storyteller, he kept everyone smiling with his sense of humor. "He will be missed" is a gross understatement. He will never be forgotten.He is survived by his wife, Karen, sons, Andy (Emily) Jones of Ontario, Ohio, and Jake (Brittany) Jones of Marion, Ohio; treasured grandchildren, Violet Jones, Graham Jones, and Brinley Vincent; sister, Carrie Lou (Bill) Hutchman of Marion, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Wade Hutchman, Mitchell (Justin) Hutchman, Meg (Levi) Holt, Corey (Ted) Fowles, and Burke (Coty) Manning; and brother-in-law, Gary Manning.He is also survived by his in-laws, Kathy Baker and daughter Emily; Diane (Gary) Burton, Laura, Julia, and Gary; Charles (Patti) Ropke, Josh, Brad, and their families.In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Jones; sister, Terri Manning; and in-laws, Walter and Kathryn Ropke.Calling hours will be observed Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel, from 4–7 PM; the funeral service will follow at 7 PM.
