She was born on June 3, 1932, to the late William Jennings and Helen Lucille Brooks.Virginia was a woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved farm life and took great pride in her garden, where she spent many hours tending to flowers and plants. She adored her Yorkie dogs and enjoyed gathering with family and friends for fish fries, creating many cherished memories.She was married to the late Carlos Strong for 46 years, sharing a lifetime of love and family together. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carletta Cathers; her son, Robert Strong; and her sisters, Ellen Morton and Ruby Clark.Virginia is survived by her loving children: Eddie Strong of Middletown, Ohio; Gary (Evelyn) Strong of West Alexandria, Ohio; Jimmy Strong of Gratis, Ohio; David (Brenda) Laschitz of Palm Coast, Florida; Linda Setters of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and Cindy (Jesse) Asbury of Lebanon, Ohio. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Robbins.Her greatest joy in life was her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness.Virginia also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Lakes Funeral Home.
