August 8, 1930— March 3, 2026
San Antonio, TX
Virginia Ruth Mollere, born August 8, 1930, in Taylor, Texas, passed away at her home on March 3, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Virginia lived a life full of beauty, faith, laughter, creativity, and devotion. She was the beloved wife of Lawrence Mollere and remained faithful to her husband, her family, and the Lord throughout her life. To know Virginia was to know warmth, generosity, and joy. She was fashionable, beautiful, funny, and full of life. Her magnanimous personality drew people in, and she made everyone feel welcome the moment they stepped through her door.
A talented seamstress and dressmaker, a ceramic teacher and artist, and a hardworking partner alongside her husband in their grocery store, Virginia became a well-known and respected figure to many. More than any title, she was a mother to so many and a friend to all. Her story began humbly in Taylor, Texas, where she often recalled being dragged through the cotton fields on a potato sack. From those beginnings, she built a remarkable life marked by hard work, resilience, and love. She shared her creativity and knowledge of crafts freely with others and found joy in life’s simple and special moments alike—watching movies snuggled on the couch with family, winning at the casino, and setting off on just about any adventure she could catch a ride to.
Virginia was the life of the party. She loved bringing people together, from prom dinners to turkey feasts, and stories are still told around the table of her nights at the dancehall with family and friends. She cared deeply for everyone who entered her home, always making sure they were fed, loved, and looked after. She is survived by her daughter, Annette Mollere; her son, Mike Mollere, and his wife, Melissa; her grandchildren, Chardae Mollere-Rod, Ali and Troy Swan, Weslie and Eric Chance; her great-grandchildren, Kai, Reef, Reid, Majer, Wiley, and Hydee; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Mollere; her son, Larry Mollere; her son-in-law, James Rodriguez; and her brothers, Charles Peavler, Sonny Peavler, and Harold Peavler.
Virginia’s life was one of strength, grace, humor, and deep love. She leaves behind a legacy of family, creativity, hospitality, and faith that will continue to live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
