January 19, 1943 March 14, 2026

Girard, PA

Virginia R. “Ginny” (Fails) Angerer, 83, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at LECOM Senior Living Center.

Born on January 19, 1943, in Conneaut, Ohio, Ginny was the daughter of the late William and Alice (Shaffer) Fails. Raised and educated in the Albion area, she graduated from Northwestern High School in 1961, where she sang in the choir and district chorus. She devoted her life to her family, finding deepest fulfillment as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A longtime member of the Federated Church of East Springfield, she sang in its choir and lived her faith with quiet conviction.

Her greatest loves were her Savior, Jesus Christ, her husband, and her children and grandchildren. She found joy in working with children, singing, tending her flower garden, and carefully preserving family memories in photo albums. She was also a member of Koinonia #52 and #75.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, William J. “Bill” Angerer, in 2003, as well as her sisters Joanne Cushman, Wanda L. Whalen, Zella M. Goodenow, and Mary E. Malliard; her brothers Ralph B. Fails and Paul R. Fails; and her grandson Eric Mattson.

She is survived by her daughter, Angella “Angie” Mattson (Steve) of Lake City; three sons, Patrick W. Angerer of Conneaut, Ohio, David M. Angerer of Erie, and Daniel J. Angerer (Sherri) of Conneaut, Ohio; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
