Virginia Martha SchenkerMarch 2, 1938 – March 14, 2026Virginia Martha Schenker (maiden name Wick) died peacefully in her sleep on March 14, 2026 at the age of 88. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Selma Wick (1900-1992) and Joseph Cwiklinski (1892-1949). Growing up, Virginia enjoyed swimming, ice skating, playing outside with her friends and going to movies. She attended St. Gall's elementary school, St. John's Cathedral High School and Mount Mary College where she earned a degree in business. Some of her many jobs included sales at Schuster's department store and budget analyst for the city of Milwaukee. Through her job at the budget office, she met the love of her life Eric Schenker. They married on April 14, 1963. During their almost 65 years together Virginia and Eric traveled extensively throughout the world and partnered in Eric's successful career as Dean of the business school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Virginia will be remembered for her positive spirit as well as the unwavering care and love she showed to her family.She was preceded in death by brother Robert (Maureen) Wick. She is survived by her husband Eric, her three sons and five grandchildren: David (wife Carol, children Alyssa, Cassie and Nolan), Robert and Richard (wife McKinsey, children Tanna and Zoe). There will be no formal memorial ceremony per her wishes. Virginia/Mom/Granny was the heart and soul of her family. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
