Virginia L. Jergensen was born to Andrew and Helen Juergensen on March 11, 1948, in Great Bend, Kansas. Her family moved to Ellinwood, KS in 1961 and she graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1966. She went on to graduate with a degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas in 1970.
In 1970, she moved to Denver, CO where she spent 30 years working for the U.S. Department of Labor. She retired in 2004 and moved to Merriam, KS to be closer to her family. She was a fan of the Jayhawks and the Broncos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters’ Veronica and Valeeta. She is survived by one sister and one brother; Valorie (George) Gross of Lawrence, KS and Vernon (Dana) Juergensen of Garland, TX. She is also survived by one niece Lindsey (Scott) Cramer and one nephew Dr. Jared (Stephanie) Gross. Three great nieces and one great nephew also survive.
Private burial will be at a later date.
