Virginia Hartman ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Lady Lake on Mar. 10, 2026.Virginia "Ginnie" Elizabeth Hartman, 79, of Orange City, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, Ginnie's life was a beautiful testament to love, music, and ministry.Born in 1946 to Richard and Gwendolyn Chase, Ginnie was the eldest of three daughters. From an early age, she embraced responsibility with grace and carried a nurturing spirit that would define her life. She grew up with a love for music, playing the trumpet in her high school marching band-a passion that would continue to flourish throughout her years.Ginnie shared a loving marriage with her husband, Robert "Corky" Anthony Hartman, Sr., who preceded her in death. Together they built a home centered on faith, family, and service. She was a devoted mother to Robert Anthony Hartman, Jr. (Ruthann), Elisa Anne Cribbs (Matthew), Michael Hartman, and Stephanie Williams. Her children remember her as steadfast, prayerful, and always ready with encouragement and wisdom. Her greatest joy was her growing family. She cherished her grandchildren: Kelli Cruz, Melonie Shaw, Robert "Trey" Hartman III, Sarah Eslinger, Mathis Hartman, Robert Shaw, Darrell Williams, Jr., Jacob Williams, Andrew Hartman, Nicholas Hartman, Jonathan Shaw, Terrance Williams, and Nathan Hartman. Ginnie rarely missed an opportunity to attend their sporting events, orchestra concerts, and milestones. Whether sitting in the bleachers or applauding from an auditorium seat, she was their most faithful supporter, celebrating each accomplishment with pride and love.Ginnie dedicated much of her life to serving the Lord and her church community. She worked faithfully as a church secretary, offering not only administrative support but also a warm smile and listening ear to all who walked through the doors. Her ministry extended beyond the church walls through her involvement with Good News Clubs, where she volunteered to teach children about the love of Christ in public schools. She believed deeply in planting seeds of faith in young hearts.Music remained one of her lifelong joys. In addition to playing the trumpet, she performed in her church orchestra and later in life took on the challenge of learning the French horn. She sang in the church choir and lovingly directed children's choirs, encouraging young voices to lift their songs in praise. Through both word and melody, she shared her faith generously.Ginnie's legacy is one of unwavering devotion-to her Savior, her family, and her community. She will be remembered for her gentle strength, her servant's heart, and the harmony she brought into the lives of those around her.Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she has entered into eternal rest. Her life was a song of faith well sung, and its melody will continue to echo in the hearts of all who loved her.Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 13, 2026 at Volusia County Baptist Church in Orange City, FL. Public visitation will be from 10am to 11am with the funeral service starting at 11am.
