Virginia E. Bredderman

Virginia E. Bredderman

September 7, 1941 March 12, 2026

Delmar, NY

Virginia E. “Ginny” Bredderman, 84, of Delmar, passed away on March 12, 2026, at home with her husband by her side. Born in Queens, New York, on September 7, 1941, to Don and Emily Tortora Ross, Ginny earned her undergraduate degree from Russell Sage College and a Master’s in Counseling from Cornell University. She taught science at Cortland Junior High School before marrying the love of her life, Ted Bredderman. The couple shared 60 years of marriage.

Once their children arrived, Ginny devoted herself fully to raising Dave, Kathy, Julie (Phil), and Mike (Danielle). She was cherished by her grandchildren, Julien, Azalea, and Frankie, who brought her great joy in her later years. She is also survived by her brother, Ron Ross (Karolyn), and several nieces and nephews.

Ginny was known in the community for inventing the Locker Ladder, a clever school-related product she first created for her daughter. What began as a simple idea grew over 20 years into a business that positively touched the lives of more than a hundred thousand students. In her free time she enjoyed tennis, ping-pong, and volleyball with friends, and she was an avid hiker who loved exploring nature and capturing its beauty through photography. A woman of deep faith, Ginny found delight in reading the Bible, discussing scripture with her regular Bible study groups, and offering faithful prayer for her family, friends, and community.
