Virginia "Ginny" Abbamondi

Virginia "Ginny" Abbamondi

Mays Landing, NJ

Virginia Abbamondi, lovingly known as Ginny, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at her home in Mays Landing, New Jersey, at the age of 93. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Pasquale and Grace (Boucara) Ciarrocchi and was the youngest of their nine children, all of whom predeceased her. Ginny spent many of her early years living with her family on a working farm in Cherry Hill.

She is survived by her six children, Al Abbamondi, Ken Abbamondi (Kaye), Kathy Berks (Bill), Patricia McCann, Gina Abbamondi, and Gary Abbamondi (Barbara Ann), as well as 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Ginny was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, Charles Albert Abbamondi, Jr., her son Michael Abbamondi, and her son-in-law Paul McCann.

Ginny was remarkably talented and found joy in many artistic pursuits, including drawing, knitting, crocheting, and creating clothing and jewelry. She especially loved making handmade stuffed animals for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked for many years in the medical field and, at the age of 50, returned to school to become a registered nurse. She dedicated herself to caring for others at Kennedy Hospital in Cherry Hill.

Above all, Ginny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family deeply. She will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and the love she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
