He was born Nov. 6, 1953, at Rural Carson to our beloved grandmother Sadie Canuto Yazzie and grandfather Dick Nakai Yazzie.Virgil is survived by his children sons Jethro (Lindsay) Yazzie, and Virgil Nakai Yazzie Jr; Daughter Desira Yazzie; sisters Dora Yazzie, Darlene Yazzie, Lavinia Henry, Bertha Harvey, Doris Coolidge; and brother Taylor Yazzie; 10 grandsons; 4 granddaughters; 3 great granddaughters and numerous family members and friends whom he loved.He was preceded in death by his wife Maggie Jean Harvey; sons Jasper Yazzie and Johnathon Yazzie; sister Dorothy Pablo; father Dick Nakai Yazzie; and mother Sadie Canuto-Yazzie.Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Christ the Rock Lutheran Church, 5401 Hood Mesa Trail in Farmington, with Pastor Jon Brohn officiating.
