Violet Frances O'Malley

Violet Frances O'Malley, 86, a longtime resident of Annapolis, Maryland, and formerly of Laurel, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026. Born on May 22, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert Taylor and Violet Denny, Violet graduated from Rosemont College with a B.A. in History. A devoted wife and mother, she traveled extensively across the United States and the world with her husband, Ed, and their four children, including memorable years spent in Singapore and Japan.

Violet found her greatest joy in time spent with her family. She cherished moments with her four children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, reading, and indulging her lifelong passion for history. A longtime member of St. Mary's parish in Annapolis, she lived a life marked by quiet devotion to her family and her faith.

In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Edward J. O'Malley, Sr., and her daughter, Mary O'Malley Nicholas. She is survived by her three children, Edward O'Malley, Jr. of Ellicott City, Maryland, Kevin O'Malley of Ellicott City, Maryland, and Violet Corrigan of Tega Cay, South Carolina; her brothers, Robert Taylor of California and Richard Taylor of Pennsylvania; and her sister, Carol Kitchin of Georgia.
