Viola Brown Outland

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viola Brown Outland of Sunbury, North Carolina, who passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid adieu to Viola's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Viola has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac M. Brown and Minnie Perry Brown; and her spouse F. J. Outland, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Teresa O. Dail (Broughton) of Hertford, Cheryl O. Moore (Garry) of Sunbury, Felton J. Outland, Jr. (Janice) of Sunbury and Ed Outland (Kim) of Bear Creek, NC. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Damascus Christian Church (84 NC-32, Sunbury, NC 27979). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
