Vincent Sheanard Anderson

Vincent Sheanard Anderson

March 25, 1956 March 12, 2026

Ponca City, OK

Vincent Sheanard Anderson was born on March 25, 1956, in Hoffman, Oklahoma, to Chester and Gustavia Ligons Anderson, Sr. Known affectionately as Vince and Bootsie, he grew up in Hoffman and attended school there and in Morris. He graduated from Morris High School in 1974, where he excelled in basketball, football, and baseball, before attending Central State University, now the University of Central Oklahoma, where he formed lifelong friendships.

Raised in a Christian home, Vincent accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. His heart remained with the Church of God in Hoffman, though he found fellowship with the saints at New Life Baptist Church in his later years. A man who loved the land, he raised garden vegetables and kept horses under the guidance of his brother Leslie. He found deep joy in the outdoors, planting flowers with his mother, building fences with his sons and brothers, clearing pastures on the tractor, and working alongside his brothers Phillip and Darryl cutting trees and burning brush.

Vincent began his career with Conoco Inc. in March 1977. He continued with the company through its transitions to ConocoPhillips, Phillips 66, and finally LiquidPower Specialty Products Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company, retiring in 2021 as Senior Research Technician. Deeply committed to his community, he was an active member of the Black Employees Network and served as a board member, Vice President, and Building Coordinator for the Attucks Community Alliance. A graduate of Leadership Ponca City, he supported the United Way of North Central Oklahoma, participated in fundraisers, volunteered with the Partners in Education program at Garfield Elementary, and served as Master Griller for Juneteenth celebrations. For more than 35 years, he was a respected umpire and referee across Oklahoma, known for his fairness and willingness to make difficult calls.

He married Tonda Denise Frederick, and together they had three children: DeTroy Michael, Natasha Shenice, and Devin Sherrod. Later he welcomed a son, Kaydan. For 26 years he shared his life with his devoted partner Deborah K. Sievert. A loving father, Vincent supported his children in their academic and athletic pursuits, traveling across the country for their games and meets. He took great pride in their collegiate athletic achievements—Mike in track at the University of Central Oklahoma, Natasha in soccer at Oklahoma City University, and Devin in football at Northeastern Oklahoma and Kansas State University. His greatest joy came from watching his grandchildren Caydon, Carter, Payton, and Grayson compete and spending time with them. He remained steadfast and loyal to his siblings and friends, cherishing family gatherings, music, cooking, and quiet moments in the country beneath the big tree. He was a man with a heart of gold—pure, solid, and true.

Vincent Sheanard Anderson passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 69, surrounded by family in his home. He was preceded in death by his former wife Tonda, his parents Chester Sr. and Gustavia, his sister Portia E. Ford Tompkins, his brother Phillip D. Anderson, and his grandparents. He is survived by his children DeTroy “Mikey,” Natasha and her significant other Kevin Stagner, and Devin and his betrothed Jami Wilson; his grandchildren Caydon, Carter, Payton, and Grayson; his siblings Georgia Berry, Chester Jr., Leslie, Diane, Deborah, Darryl, Karen, Felisha Fox, and Deanna Chambers; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
