Vincent Donato, 85, of Dumont, NJ, passed away on Sunday.
A Brooklyn native, Vincent carried the spirit of the borough with him wherever he went, through Wayne, Emerson, and finally to Dumont. He was gregarious, the kind of man who could strike up a conversation with anyone and usually did.
Vincent served his country in the United States Army National Guard before going on to a long career as a financial advisor. He served on the town council and as police commissioner, both in Emerson.
He loved a good game of poker, good company, and rarely turned down an opportunity for either.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Honorah; his sister Rose; his sons Richard, John, Brian, and Sean; his seven grandchildren, John Jr., Isabella, Justin, Jaydon, Clark, Isla, and Piper.
He will be deeply missed.
