Vincent M. Eggers, 68, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 13, 2026.
Born on April 5, 1957, in Puerto Rico to Jean and Ralph Eggers, Vincent grew up in a military family, moving across the United States with his father’s Air Force service before settling in Amarillo, a city he and his family came to love deeply. He graduated from Alamo High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from West Texas State University.
Vincent began his career at Tarpley Music Company, where he also enjoyed working on cars and sailboats in his spare time. He then embarked on a remarkable 37-year tenure as a sales associate with the Adleta Corporation in the wholesale flooring industry. Known as an exceptional employee who earned numerous sales honors, he approached his work with genuine passion, treating his customers like family and building lasting relationships with colleagues.
He found great joy in the thrill of speed, riding motorcycles and dune buggies and owning a collection of exotic cars—often three or four at a time—while happily tinkering in his spacious 1,700-square-foot man cave. Yet nothing brought him more happiness than time with his grandchildren, driving them on his riding lawnmower, letting them sit on his motorcycles, blowing bubbles, drawing with chalk on the driveway, and playing with Mr. Magnet Man. To them he was beloved G-Daddy, the man who could occasionally be persuaded to serve fudgesicles for breakfast.
Vincent cherished his wide circle of close friends and brothers, maintaining deep, personal connections and always being there when they needed him. Honest, authentic, and sincere, he lived with the simple goal of being known as a good man, a title many readily gave him. He married Angela Day Knapp on July 6, 2013, and often told her it was the best decision of his life, calling them a perfect fit.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Eggers, Jr., and his mother, Jean Eggers.
Vincent is survived by his wife, Angela Eggers; her children, Shelby Massey and husband Joel of Granbury, and Philip Knapp and wife Ashley of Canadian; and his four cherished grandchildren—Jack and Ellis Massey, and Carter and Benjamin Knapp—who called him G-Daddy. He is also survived by his half-siblings, Arthur Eggers, Timothy Eggers, Stephan Eggers, and Michelle Wrubleski, along with six nieces and nephews.
