October 9, 1976— March 7, 2026
Virginia Beach, VA
Vincent Wayne Lawson, 49, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and hearts that are profoundly broken.
Vincent was born on October 9, 1976, at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida, to Gary R. Lawson and the late Charlotte Echo Lawson. He was proudly named after two legendary figures admired by his family: artist Vincent van Gogh and actor John Wayne. After graduating from high school in 1996, he attended trade school and pursued a career as an electrician. Through dedication and hard work, he earned the distinction of becoming a Master Electrician. He began his career in a non-union setting and later proudly joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, an accomplishment that meant a great deal to him. Vincent took immense pride in his trade and the work he did. Throughout his life, he endured two serious collisions whose effects were unimaginable, yet he continued forward with strength and resilience. Those who knew him remember a man who was tough, determined, and deeply devoted to the people he loved.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kirstie A. Lawson; his children Brandon M. Reabold (Amber), Jeremy T. Greene (Kristiana), Tatiana N. Greene (Rasheed Pinkston), Hailey A. Lawson (Owen Six), and Katelyn M. Lawson; and his bonus children Jahlil Lowe and Kanaz Harvin. He is also survived by his father, Gary R. Lawson; his sister, Autumn R. Lawson; his mother-in-law, Karen A. Greene; his grandfather, Milton Lawson; his aunts, Melanie Lawson and Patricia Hansen; and his uncle, John Lawson. Vincent was a proud grandfather to Madison and Emma Reabold, Kayden and Grayson Greene, and Elena Burton, with another grandchild expected soon. He also leaves behind many brothers- and sisters-in-law, including Patricia Ortiz (Jamie), Thomas M. Greene, Kelly A. Reed (Erwin), and Ryan S. Greene, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and dear friends Pieri Burton (Jackie) and Richard Brauer (Nancy).
Vincent was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Echo Lawson; his grandmother, Shirley Lawson; his grandparents, Virginia and William Griffin; and his father-in-law, Orville T. Greene Jr. He was also preceded in death by his beloved four-legged companions, his dog Colby and cat Boo Boo, who were special members of his family.
