Victoria Dillon ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery on Mar. 13, 2026.Victoria "Vikki" Elizabeth Dillon, age 80, of Mesa, Arizona, was welcomed into heaven on Thursday, March 5, 2026. She passed peacefully while surrounded by those who loved her and were near: her daughter, Dr. Carrie Brunson of Mesa, Arizona; her son, Joseph Yamrick, Retired USMC, of Apache Junction, Arizona; her devoted granddaughter, Jessica Crawford of Chandler, Arizona, her sister Sandra Reisenaur and her best friend Juanita Mindrup. Anyone who met Vikki quickly understood why she was so deeply loved. She possessed a vibrant spirit, a generous heart, and a natural ability to make others feel welcome and valued. Her warmth, humor, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.Vikki built a successful career in banking, beginning as a teller and steadily advancing through dedication and hard work to the role of Vice President of a Savings and Loan institution. Following her retirement, she relocated to Mesa in 1995, where she became an active and beloved member of the Sunland Village East community. Within Sunland Village East, Vikki devoted countless hours of service and leadership. She was a revered leader and served as President of the SVE Garden Condos Association for eight years. She was often sought out for her wisdom and ability to solve complex problems. She served as the auditorium kitchen manager for more than a decade and played a pivotal role in coordinating the renovation of the tennis club kitchen. Her passion for tennis was equally evident. As President of the tennis club for more than ten years, she mentored many players and helped cultivate a vibrant and welcoming tennis community. Vikki took great pride in her accomplishments on the court and was especially proud to have achieved the level of a 4.0 player. She was also an exceptional cook and was known to command up to $225 for each lemon meringue pie to raise funds for her community.Music also brought Vikki great joy. She loved to sing and generously shared that gift with others by traveling to nursing homes throughout Mesa to perform for residents. Her compassionate nature extended to many acts of quiet service, including delivering Meals on Wheels for several years, ensuring that members of her community received both nourishment and kindness. Lastly, her incredible sense of humor brought joy to many. She loved a good dad joke and enjoyed sharing this one: "How do you make a hankie dance? You put a little boogie in it."Vikki was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mary Baker; her brother, Gene Baker; and her stepson, Jeff Dillon. She is survived by her children, Carrie Brunson of Mesa, Arizona, and Joseph Yamrick of Apache Junction, Arizona. She is also survived by her sisters, Marylee Hickman and Sandra Reisenauer; her brother, Roger Baker; and her stepchildren, Diane Carnahan, Mary Hart, and Linda Hulten.One of Vikki's greatest joys in life was being a grandmother. She delighted in every moment spent with her family and is survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. In her final days, she was especially comforted by the presence of her granddaughter Jessica Crawford, whose visits brought Vikki immense happiness. Whenever Jessica was near, Vikki's face would light up with a radiant smile.Vikki's life was defined by love, generosity, music, friendship, and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the many family members, friends, and community members whose lives she touched.Services to be determinedIn lieu of flowers, if you are inclined please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
