Victor Lawrence Love

Victor Lawrence Love passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on July 25, 1936, in Prince George’s County, Maryland, to Lilly Wheeler Love and William Franklin Love, he grew up in Cheverly and graduated from Bladensburg High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963 as an Electrician’s Mate aboard a minesweeper, then attended CREI, now known as Capitol College, where he earned a degree in Electrical Technology. He married his high school sweetheart, Gale R. Love (née Roberts), and enjoyed a long career as a technology specialist with IBM before retiring.

Victor had a lifelong passion for power boating and model trains. He lived in Lanham, Owings, and St. Thomas, Pennsylvania, before settling in Severna Park, Maryland. He is remembered as a devoted family man who took great pride in his children and their growing families.

He is survived by his children, William Love of Severna Park, Maryland, Michael Love of Loris, South Carolina, and Sharon Linkous of Owings, Maryland, along with seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of life for Victor and Gale will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 12 noon at the American Legion Post 175 in Severna Park.
