Victor Fitzherbert Cameron

November 27, 1940 March 6, 2026

Brooklyn, NY

Victor Cameron, born in Georgetown, Guyana, to the late Robert Cameron and Esthelene Mingo-King, passed away after a life marked by quiet strength, deep family devotion, and a passion for fitness and friendship. Raised in Georgetown alongside his two sisters, he attended St. George’s Primary and Secondary School. From an early age, Victor embraced athletics and sports, serving as a trainer for marathon runners and cyclists. He maintained a close and loving bond with his sisters, especially his eldest sister, Thelma, throughout his life.

Victor married Claudette Agard, the love of his life, and together they raised eight children. In 1992, they immigrated to the United States, eventually settling in Brooklyn, New York. Though they later separated, they remained good friends. Victor worked as a superintendent for an apartment building and stayed active and fit well into his later years, often riding his bicycle from Brooklyn to Queens to visit Thelma. A man of few words and always well-dressed, he made friends easily both in Guyana and in the United States. In his later years, he was an active member of his spiritual church before his health declined.

Victor is survived by his children Mitchelyn Aldale, Shavon Agard, Yusuf, Robert, Samuel, Mirriam, and Kimberly Cameron; his sons- and daughters-in-law Heywood Smith, Thandi Cameron, Tessa Johnson-Agard, and Oneil Johnson; his grandchildren Candicia, Jaden, Sukonya, Samuel, Serena, Lemuel, Kiany, Asianna, Jasmine, Tiffon, Terelle, Tomika, Daniel, Maliyah, Jadon, Janiyah, and Sekou; his great-grandchildren De’aundre, Da’marion, Neilani, Zarah, Messiah; his sisters Thelma Thompson and Barbara Cameron; and his nieces and nephews Robin Thompson-Labissiere, Suget Thompson-Aurelien, and Shaun Thompson.

He leaves behind a rich legacy that lives on through the many lives he touched as a brother, father, grandfather, father-in-law, uncle, and great-grandfather. May his soul rest in peace.
