Victor C. Manuel

Victor C. Manuel

Greenville, SC

Victor C. Manuel, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at the age of 84 in Greenville, South Carolina.

Born on October 4, 1941, in Monmouth, Illinois, Vic grew up in the small town of Roseville. The son of the late Howard Parker Manuel and Melba Jane Sovereign Manuel, he graduated from Roseville High School and earned degrees in Business Education and Business Administration from Western Illinois University. After teaching school for four years, he began a long career with Deere and Company that spanned more than three decades. He served as President of the Quad Cities Foreign Trade Zone, taught Junior Achievement, and was an active Boy Scout leader. A gifted singer, Vic performed at weddings and funerals during high school and college and sang in the choir at First Presbyterian Church in Davenport, Iowa, where he and his wife were longtime members.

Vic had a deep interest in history and current political events. He cherished the many travels he shared with his family to Taiwan, Germany, Mexico, and Hawaii. Yet nothing mattered more to him than his wife and family, whose love and closeness brought him his greatest joy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, whose profound bond with him served as a beautiful example to all who knew them. He is also survived by his son, Mark Manuel (Rachel) of Davenport, Iowa; his daughter, Kristin Black (Tim) of Simpsonville, South Carolina; his brothers, Jim Manuel (Linda) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Tom Manuel of Macomb, Illinois; four grandchildren, Kelsey Anderson (Taylor), Tyler Black, Elliott Manuel (Allie), and Franki Manuel (Hayden); and a great-granddaughter, Ellie Anderson.
