Vickie Louise Shelton

September 7, 1959 March 8, 2026

Elkton, KY

Vickie Louise Shelton, age 66, of Elkton, Kentucky, passed away on March 8, 2026, at her residence. Born on September 7, 1959, in Todd County, she spent 13 years working at the Christian County Animal Shelter, where she passionately advocated for spay and neuter programs. Her deep love for animals, instilled by her father’s affection for his hunting dogs, made her work in finding forever homes for shelter animals a true calling. To her coworkers, she was more than a colleague; she was family.

Her greatest joy came from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Vickie drew strength from her faith in God and Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Marie Owen Knight, and her brother, Randy Knight.

She is survived by her father, Thomas “Gene” Knight of the Greenridge community; her children, Jonathan Walker and his wife Lisa Shy of Elkton, Stacy Greenfield and her husband David of Elkton, Dustin Shelton and his wife Destiny of Elkton, and stepdaughter Kamryn Chestnut of Jacksonville, Florida; her brothers Tony Knight of Greenridge, Terry Knight and his wife Faith of Auburn, and her sister Jenifer Knight of Olmstead; her grandchildren Gavin and Summer Greenfield, Lucas Greenfield, Carly Walker, Katelyn Walker, Jesse and Kayley Walker, Paisley Shelton, Brentley Shelton, and Remington Shelton; her great-grandchildren Madison Powell and Joseph Walker; and her beloved dogs Tormento and Coco. She also leaves behind several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
