Vicki Schulz ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Devlin Funeral Home - North Hills on Feb. 25, 2026.With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved Vicki Lynn Edwards Schulz, who peacefully departed this life at home, surrounded by her loving family, on February 23, 2026, at the age of 78. Vicki courageously battled Lewy Body Dementia for six years, meeting every challenge with remarkable strength, grace, and resilience. Even in illness, she embodied the selflessness, compassion, and quiet dignity that defined her life.Born on December 16, 1947, in Avalon, Pennsylvania, Vicki was a proud 1965 graduate of Avalon High School and earned her nursing diploma from The Presbyterian-University Hospital School of Nursing in 1968. Nursing was not simply her profession-it was her calling. She devoted her life to caring for others, serving as a registered nurse at Suburban General Hospital of Bellevue, Surgical Associates of Pittsburgh, and GI Specialists before retiring from Vincentian Home in 2017. In every role she held, Vicki consistently placed the needs of others before her own, touching countless lives with her generosity, empathy, and unwavering dedication.On August 16, 1969, Vicki married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Schulz, and together they recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. She was a member of Hiland Presbyterian Church for many years, a Life Member who served on the board of the Presbyterian-University Hospital Nurses Alumnae Association (PUHNAA) and generously volunteered her time in her children's activities. Her compassion extended far beyond her family. She found joy in family vacations to Cape May, Ocean City and Virginia Beach; crocheting blankets for newborns; helping friends; attending many high school reunions and nursing luncheons and offering a hand wherever it was needed. A passionate supporter of the Avonworth High School basketball boys' and girls' teams, Vicki faithfully followed her husband's 33-year coaching career, and loved attending nearly every game. She was famous for keeping detailed written directions in an index box to every school for away basketball games- a reflection of her care and preparation. This thoughtful practice was even published in First for Women magazine on March 24, 1997.Vicki's greatest joy was her family, especially her four grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Momo." She cherished every moment spent with them-babysitting, crafting, playing board games, and attending various family show performances and their school and sporting events whenever she could. She often said that time with her grandchildren was the greatest gift of all. In her final days, she shared that the hardest part of saying goodbye was leaving her beloved four grandchildren.She brought happiness to those around her through her kindness, gentle humor, and encyclopedic knowledge of entertainment trivia and crossword puzzles. Vicki lived with deep empathy and an open heart-always celebrating others' joys and never forgetting to send a thoughtful Hallmark card. To know her was to experience warmth and love that lingered long after any encounter. Vicki will be remembered for her extraordinary selflessness, unwavering compassion, and quiet courage. Her legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her, and especially through her children and grandchildren.Vicki is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Bob; her daughters, Kimberly (Quentin) Orlando of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Wendy (Rick) Christensen of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; her four cherished grandchildren, Kacy, Quentin, Colton, and Kami; her beloved grand dog, Maisy; her sisters-in-law, Eileen Edwards and Patty Hile (Bob); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Lou Edwards, and recently her brother, Tom Edwards.
