Vicki J. (Thompson) Hook, born on November 10, 1954, in Cuba, New York, passed away peacefully at her home on Marco Island, Florida, on March 10, 2026.

A dedicated public servant, Vicki built a distinguished career centered on election administration and congressional service. She served as Cattaraugus County Elections Commissioner and later as Deputy Elections Commissioner for the Erie County Board of Elections. She went on to work in Washington as Office Administrator, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chief of Staff for New York Members of Congress Vito Fossella and Tom Reed, where she was known for her tireless work ethic, political insight, and steadfast commitment to serving constituents with integrity.

In 2013, Vicki retired to Marco Island, Florida, where she embraced a quieter life while retaining her sharp wit and lifelong passion for helping others.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael; her three beloved daughters, Melissa Scott, Mindy Scott (Welninski), and Mandi (Scott) Culhane; her mother, Nancy (Oliver) Thompson; her sons-in-law, Eric Welninski and Michael Culhane; and her cherished dog, Toby. She also leaves behind her brothers, Scott Thompson (Doreen) and Ronn Thompson (Angie), along with many nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth and charm as “Aunt Vicki.”
