Vesta L. Herr

Vesta L. (Phenegar) Herr, 91, of Strasburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. She was the wife of the late Chester “Chet” G. Herr, who died on May 20, 2020.

Born in Strasburg Township, Vesta was the daughter of the late S. Roy and Mary (Eyman) Phenegar. She dedicated 53½ years of her working life to Fulton Bank, where she first met Chet, then serving as Vice President of Operations.

A lifelong and faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, Vesta found quiet joy in knitting. She is remembered for her steady presence, gentle spirit, and deep commitment to the people and places she loved.

She is survived by her siblings, Richard A. Phenegar of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Evelyn A. Foulk of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, and Roy E. Phenegar of the Veterans Center in Spring City, Pennsylvania; her nephew, John R. Foulk and his wife Barbara of Strasburg; and her stepchildren, Brenda Solodky of Lancaster and Bruce E. Herr of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her stepson, Brad H. Herr, in addition to her parents and husband.
