Verna Lee Boyd (Hobbs), 91, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Mt Healthy Christian Home Hospice.

Born on July 31, 1934, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, to Jacob and Hattie Hobbs, Verna married her beloved husband Bernie Boyd on September 16, 1953. Bernie preceded her in death on May 30, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Carl and Edna Hobbs, Harold and Skippy Hobbs, Doris and Vernon Gregory, and Joy and Mel Reed.

Verna worked for 30 years at the Procter & Gamble Ivorydale Plant, retiring in 1990. She was one of the first women to work on the factory floor there and spent many years on the Depends brand, conducting nursing home studies. Her Christian faith guided her life with compassion and kindness. She sang in the church choir, organized family reunions for many years, and remained a devoted University of Kentucky basketball fan.

She is survived by her sisters Phyllis Cox of Cincinnati and Jan Meaban (Phil) of Texas; nieces Carol Hobbs Hart (Richard) of Colorado and Diana Hunt (Lloyd) of Cincinnati; her children Russell (Debra) Boyd of Mt Vernon, Ohio, and Teresa (John) Riestenberg; grandchildren Jason (Taryn) Boyd of Mt Vernon, John M. Riestenberg, and Eric (Kathryn) Wesley; and great-grandchildren Dillon and Juliet Boyd and Alex and Luke Wesley, along with many other nieces, nephews, and their families.
