Carpenter, until his passing in 2017. She was well known for her strong personality-lovingly described as bossy, fiercely protective, and wonderfully particular. She kept everyone on their toes and wouldn't have had it any other way.Above all, Vergie treasured her family. She loved spending time with them, whether gathered around the table enjoying her famous homemade biscuits or sharing stories and laughter. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, including watching the Redbirds, talking on the CB, tending to her plants, and attending parades and the fair.Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Vivian Smith and husband Chester of Merryville, Louisiana, and Jessica Stephens and husband Mark of DeRidder, Louisiana; her brother, Ezra Young and wife Patsy of DeRidder, Louisiana; her grandson, Allen Smith and wife Karlie; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Laramie, Karmen, and Koulter Smith.She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Carpenter; her parents, T.C.
