Verdia Mae Dickerson

Verdia Mae Dickerson was born on April 5, 1952, to the late Thermon and Georgia Mae Brock. She passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by love and serenity as she took her last breath after a courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma.

From a young age, Verdia gave her life to Christ and remained a faithful member of Little Union Missionary Baptist Church. She worked in various fields throughout her life, including bartending, housekeeping, babysitting, and caring for the elderly. Her greatest joy was cooking for others. She loved hosting family gatherings and spending time with those she held dear, nourishing both bodies and hearts with her presence.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Melissa Taylor, Glenn (Demetris) Dickerson, Eric (Demetris) Dickerson, Michelle (Dwayne) Russell, and Joshua Dickerson; and her siblings, Lawyer Brock, Lawrence (Emma) Brock, Thermon Brock, and Nora Lee Dickerson.

Verdia was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Earl Dickerson; her parents, Thermon and Georgia Mae Brock; her son, Michael Dickerson; her siblings, Minnie Dickerson; her niece, Bee Roberts, and nephew, Tony Brock; her grandson, Eric Ramee; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Dickerson; her sisters-in-law, Katherine Brock and Diane Brock; and her brother-in-law, Bay Bay Dickerson.
