She was born in Central, AZ October 27, 1937 to Loyal and Amy (Bigler) Haddock.Venice was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ronald Butler Higginbotham; their daughter, Mary Jones (Craig); siblings, Eddie Haddock (Sue), and Norma Goodman (Dale).Venice is survived by siblings, Jim Haddock (Char) and Ruth Christiansen (Roy); children, Amy Shumaker (Greg), Jenny Kartchner (Milo), Holly Schweighardt (Rob), Becky Brown (Bob), Katy Larson (Brian), Ronald Joseph Higginbotham (Louisa) and Heidy Anway (Dennis); 47 grandchildren and 75 great grandchildren.She united in marriage with her beloved husband, Ron (on March 27, 1959) and waited 20 years since his passing (March 19, 2006) to reunite in Heaven with him.Venice was raised in Tucson, AZ and lived most of her married life in St. David, AZ. She was a court room clerk in her early adult years. Raising a family of integrity was her greatest desire. She was an "angel" wife and mother. Her Christlike character and goodness was evident. She had a passion for serving and loving and making you feel you were her favorite. She is known for making the best whole wheat bread, which is very fitting for her discipleship of Jesus Christ, who is The Bread of Life.Ron and Venice served a 2-year mission in the Canary Islands for their church (1996-1998). Venice studied the Spanish language and became fluent. After their mission, she continued to read and study daily in Spanish. Venice cooked, gardened, canned, and sewed. In her later years she memorized and practiced saying the full names of each member of her entire big family, in-laws included.This choice daughter of God will forever be cherished and remembered by many with whom she left a lasting impact and a gift of joy.
