Velma Regina Brooks Johnson
March 5, 1967— March 2, 2026
Columbia, TN
Velma Regina Brooks Johnson was born to the late Hattie Mae Cobble (J.B.) on March 5th, 1967, in Maury County, Tennessee. She departed this life March 2, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.
Regina has always had the heart of a servant. She loved and cared for people differently, selflessly pouring into her family and friends. She would give the shirt off her back, if she believed one needed it. Regina also shared that love with numerous patients, throughout her 20 plus years as a CNA before becoming a full-time GiGi. She doted on her family and every child she had a hand in raising.
Regina leaves behind a multitude of loved ones to cherish the memories, laughs and good times that were created in this life.
With love, she leaves behind her sister, Valerie Brooks Greene; her treasured nieces, Leighanna (Norman) Anderson, Kaire Anderson, and Amahi Anderson; her nephews, Tyler Greene and Khalil Anderson; her beloved adopted daughter, Cherish Johnson; and her devoted friend and partner, David Luster. She also leaves many loving cousins, aunts, and uncles who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Pallbearers are: Norman Anderson, Davaris Frierson, Marshall Brooks, Tyler Greene, Norman Pillow, Henry Fitzgerald.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. A service honoring Regina’s life will begin at 1:00 p.m., after which she will be lovingly laid to rest at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
With care and compassion, Williams Funeral Home is helping the family with arrangements.
