Veda Louise Miller

Veda Louise Miller, 54, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, at 7:35 AM at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on July 3, 1971, in Hobbs, New Mexico, she was the daughter of Preston and Brenda Brooker.

Veda was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, LaCreatia Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Anna Miller of Yuma, Arizona, and Brenda Brister of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sister, Stacy Phillips and husband John Phillips of Hobbs; her brothers, Kelly Brooker of Odessa, Texas, and Clifton Brooker of Hobbs; her brother-in-law, Bobby Jones of Hobbs; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was never afraid of hard work and possessed a generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. Veda loved to dance and had a natural talent for country dancing and the lively styles of the 1960s. One of her sister’s fondest memories was watching Veda and their father take to the floor to do the Twist and other fast dances.

In her later years, Veda faced many difficult battles. Though life was often hard, she met each challenge with quiet resilience, rarely complaining, and held firmly to her faith in Jesus. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her gentle strength, and the deep love she carried for her family, especially her daughters.
